This year's Global Entrepreneurship Week will again feature the Startup Weekend. This 54-hour event allows creative minds to come together and conceptualize new businesses. This year Startup Weekend will be hosting more than 50 events across the USA.
Startup Weekends are three day events usually on weekends where a number of designers, developers and startup enthusiasts form teams and launch business ideas. This happens over the course of three days and the participants usually submit their demo or prototype by Sunday evening.
Carl Schramm, the President of the Kauffman Foundation which organizes the GEW states that the Startup Weekend is one of the best initiatives of the GEW since it combines talent from the globe and helps them with resources and expertise.
The GEW will be on from Nov. 14 – 20 this year and Startup Weekend events will be held at New York, San Francisco, and Washington. The winner from each city will participate in the Global Startup Battle beginning Nov. 21 where they have the opportunity to win the title of Global Startup Weekend Champion and many prizes.
